iPad exclusive newspaper, The Daily, by Christmas?

The two business billionaires are on the path to change the way news will be read, peak of its portability.

Rupert Murdoch, head of the media giant News Corp, and Steve Jobs, the chief executive of Apple, are preparing to unveil a new digital "newspaper" called the Daily at the end of this month.

According to reports, there will be no "print edition" or "web edition" and is being developed with assistance from Apple engineers.

Murdoch's staff started working on this project 'tablet-only newspaper' for a long time. Jesse Angelo, the managing editor of the New York Post, has been handpicking top editors and writers, staff of about 100 to create The Daily which, according to sources close to the project, will be a "tabloid sensibility with a broadsheet intelligence."

It would use the new App Store subscription model at 99 cents a week, about $4.25 per month. Beta stage app may avail this December.

WWD suggests that Murdoch himself could join Steve Jobs on its 2011 public presentation.
