The latest figures from Apple show that customers have downloaded around 5 billion apps so far this year, considering the company said in January that it had just passed the 10 billion download mark.
According to Meraki, a cloud service provider, Apple’s iPad accounts for an explosive increase in percentage of the browser market. According to their new report, iPad users consumes 400% more Wi-Fi data on a monthly basis than the average iPhone, iPod or Android portable device.
This report prepared by Meraki, took account of data collected from the anonymously surveyed 100,000+ devices accessing public, educational and general use Wi-Fi networks in the U.S. It analyzed bandwidth usage and operating system popularity between 2010 and 2011 to reveal the huge gap between the Wi-Fi data usage of iPads and other mobile devices.

Investment research firm Piper Jaffray recently completed its 20th bi-annual teen survey, a national study which polls around 6,000 students around the country about their interest and buying patterns in mobile phones, portable media players and online music services.
According to the results of that survey, the percentage of teens that own an iPhone currently sits at 14%, which is essentially unchanged from the same survey conducted last year. However, interest in purchasing an iPhone in the next 6 months rose to an all-time high of 33%.

"we believe could still be conservative," according to Maynard Um, an analyst at the UBS Investment Research.
There is no evidence that iPad purchases are affecting Mac sales, but the popular tablet has been "adversely impacting" PC sales, specifically notebook PCs, Um wrote, prompting many of them to launch iPad competitors. There will not likely be any "viable threats" to the iPad "for some time," however.
"We believe that a majority of this impact is occurring on the lower end of PC sales as the iPad is priced close enough to this range that it becomes attractive to consumers looking to make purchases within this segment," he wrote.

The survey of 20,000 people conducted by US consumer research firm MyType also claimed that they are selfish and unkind.
MyType spokesman Tim Koelkebeck gave his unflattering appraisal of iPad owners on the company's blog after the firm released the results of the survey online.
And Koelkebeck said that 96 per cent of iPad's critics don't own an iPad, but are generally independent-minded young people who "shun conformity".
Survey finds that the 73% of iPhone users are very satisfied with AT&T's service. This reports compares how non-iPhone users feet about the AT&T, and even to how non-iPhone users feel about other wireless providers.
The satisfaction rate of AT&T subscribers as a whole is 68%, and only 69% of smartphone users say they are satisfied with their mobile provider, Yankee Group found.
