Apple Releases iOS 4.0.1 to Fix iPhone 4 Reception Flaw.

With the release of iOS 4.0.1, the first update to the device’s operating system, which aims to fix the most talked about flaw.

When the iPhone 4 reception issue came to light, Apple promised a software fix to the formula it uses to calculate signal strength. Although the reception issue has been identified as a hardware problem since then, we still expected Apple to roll out the software fix.

According to Apple, iOS 4.0.1 only has one change: It “improves the formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display.” Because it addresses an issue inherent only to phones, iOS 4.0.1 is only available for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and iPhone 4.
