The Forbes Top 50 list of the world’s most valuable brands, compiled by the magazine, is dominated by 32 US firms. The top nine brands in the list were from the US. The magazine further said, “Apple shows just how a brand can survive and thrive even when a parent company stumbles. Most iPad owners are "over-achieving selfish elites"

Dubbing iPad owners as “over-achieving selfish elites,” a new survey has revealed that those who have Apple's "magical device", are six times more likely to be wealthy, highly educated and sophisticated 30-50 year olds who value power and achievement.

The survey of 20,000 people conducted by US consumer research firm MyType also claimed that they are selfish and unkind.

MyType spokesman Tim Koelkebeck gave his unflattering appraisal of iPad owners on the company's blog after the firm released the results of the survey online.

And Koelkebeck said that 96 per cent of iPad's critics don't own an iPad, but are generally independent-minded young people who "shun conformity".

iPad Launch May Be Delayed For Some Countries.

According to engadget.com, LG, which supplies the LCD displays for the iPad is unable to keep up with the enormous demand.

“Demand (from Apple) keeps growing and we can’t meet it all. Apple may have to delay launches of the iPad for some countries due to tight component supplies and strong demand,” LG Display CEO Kwon Young-soo told reporters.

Recently, the iPad became available in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore.

However, Apple was careful not to promise a launch date for the rest of the world, merely stating that the “iPad will roll out to many more countries later this year and Apple will announce availability and local pricing for these additional countries at a later date.” It seems now that this date could be further away than we thought.
